Starting a MMORPG with a friend that you're really excited to play. Going to bed after a fun night of playing together. Waking up the next day, going to work, all day thinking about playing the game when you get home. Get home excited to play the game. Jump on the computer and log into the game only to find out that your friend is now 50 levels ahead of you and left you so far behind the game stops being fun. Leading to the inevitability of you quitting the game.
