procastifaking

Procastifaking (noun/verb, slang): The art of appearing highly productive while intentionally avoiding the work that actually needs to be done. A person who is procastifaking fills their time with low-priority tasks, unnecessary organization, endless planning, or other convincing distractions that create the illusion of progress without accomplishing the real objective. Unlike ordinary procrastination, procastifaking is characterized by doing things that look useful such as cleaning a workspace, answering unimportant emails, color-coding notes, or researching endlessly so both the person and those around them may believe meaningful work is being completed. In reality, these activities serve as a way to delay the important task while reducing feelings of guilt by maintaining the appearance of productivity.
"I turned a 20-minute assignment into an all-day event by creating as many unnecessary side quests as possible, all while calling it 'getting ready to work.' That's PEAK procastifaking."

"I convinced myself that cleaning my entire room, updating Windows, sorting 8,000 screenshots, and checking the weather every 15 minutes was somehow helping me write my essay. That's peak procastifaking.

"I convinced myself that I couldn't start my homework until my room was spotless, my desktop was organized, my playlist was perfect, my snacks were ready, and I watched 'just one' YouTube video. Six hours later, I still hadn't opened the assignment. That's peak procastifaking."

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.
