Pre Engagement

When two people in a relationship promise each other that one day in the future, one of them will formally propose and the other will accept.

Usually made when a couple are young and the man cant afford to buy a nice expensive shiny ring for his deserving girlfriend

Guy: "Baby I promise that ill get you that ring and im going to ask for your hand in marriage!"

Girl: *Gasp* "And we'll live happily ever after!"

Guy: "This is a serious pre engagement! You better not be humoring me!"

pre engaged 

the step in a relationship before the engagement. more than "just boyfriend and girlfriend" but not quite engaged yet. but with definte plans on engagement and marriage in the future.

a promise, a commitment.

"will you marry me? not today and not tomorrow, but one day?"

"yes. of course <3"

"so this means, we are engaged now?"
"not quite. we are pre engaged"

preenager 

The time of life when a person spends more than two hours "preening" at the mirror to get ready to leave the house. Preenage usually starts about age 12 for girls and 16 in boys, when they discover "the opposite sex" and want to be attractive.

I have give my daughter at least two hours notice before we're supposed to leave the house, because she's a preenager and takes forever in the bathroom getting ready.
