neuroreality

Brain computer interface generated input that the brain interprets as a state of actual being or existence. Indistinguishable from what is perceived as genuine reality.
“I expected neuroreality to feel artificial, but when I ‘arrived’ in the Bahamas - OMG! I was in the Bahamas! Intellectually, I knew I was connected to a brain computer interface, but I’m telling you, it felt like I was literally in the Bahamas. The sun on my skin, the crash of the waves, the coolness of wet sand under my feet. The air heavy with humidity; it was sticky, and every little sound, every whiff of the ocean — it was all there. It was real. All very real. No doubt about it. None. But here’s the thing, what bothers me now — what really bothers me now — is I’m back in the lab, right? Right? But am I? How do I know? How could I ever know? OMFG. Get me out of here. GET ME OUT OF HERE!”

Neurorealism

The idea that our nervous system (brain, neurons, synapses) determines how we perceive and see reality. It is the neuro‑centered version of Cognitive Realism. Its weak version (Neurorelativism) holds that different nervous systems produce different, equally valid realities. Its strong version (Neurodeterminism) asserts that neural structure absolutely and inevitably constrains all possible experience. Neurorealism is criticized for ignoring the role of the body (embodiment), environment (extended cognition), and culture (situated cognition). It also tends to reduce the person to the brain, overlooking social and psychological dimensions.
Example: “Neurorealism reminds us that a bloodhound lives in a world of smells we cannot access – its neural reality is different. But can we train our own sense of smell? Skepticism questions.”

flophouse

Any house/apartment/frat house/trailer/etc. which is used for individuals to crash (sleep, chill, hang out, lurk, etc.) for a period of time. In order to "crash", one must not actually live there (e.g. have their name on the lease, own said flophouse, etc.). Flophouses are typically used by college students, drug addicts, transients, vagrants, or other unsavory characters.

A flophouse may also be the home owned by the parents of a college student, who after being away at college, wishes to live as if he/she is still at college (e.g. staying out all night, returning just to crash at mom and dad's house, then leaving again), rather than conforming to the pre-college rules.
Example #1
Dude: (Talking to someone passed out face first on the floor of his college apartment) Hey man, who the hell are you? What do you think this is, a flophouse??

Bro: Sorry dude, I must have passed out for a minute.

Example #2
Mom: Where have you BEEN for the last three days? You come home just to sleep?? What do you think this is, a flophouse??!!

Son: What's your problem? I'm an adult now!

Hate Sink

A person you hate intensely not because they deserve such hatred but because they serve as a focus for your general hatred. A healthy way to dispense with excess animosity.
Jake's not really that big an asshole. He just serves as my hate sink.

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
