monkey is out of the bottle

Referring to "Pineapple Express" letting the "monkey out of the bottle" is in the same terms as letting "the cat out of the bag"..like the "secrets out"..

1: "well i guess the monkey is out of the bottle then?"
2: "What? what does that even mean?"
