Microaffections

The tiniest of possible compliment, not caring enough to qualify as regular affection. Generally unintentional, unnoticed, and unimportant, these microaffections draw the attention of the clingy and crazy types, which they quote as evidence of your "relationship." Around exes they should be avoided at all cost.

Guy: I like your phone.
Girl: Thanks.

Girl Internally: OMG, Chad IS into me. I knew he was going to ask me out. This is your chance Rhonda!?! *leans in to kiss guy*
Guy: Rhonda, WTF. You always take microaffections way to far.
