left-pondian

adj, n. American. To the left of the Atlantic Ocean. The term is typically used to qualify variants of the English language or its speakers. Common in alt.usage.english, where it may have originated.

Contrasted with "right-pondian". The rarer "under-pondian" is also sometimes used.
Those left-pondian words are quite ludicrous indeed!

So called because it is in the left-hand side of the Pond3. Its inhabitants are Leftpondians, in the absence of a suitable word that doesn't implicitly include Canadians, Mexicans, etc.
