The fan-given name of the pairing (or shipping) of the characters Katara and Haru. These characters are from the Nickelodeon TV show, Avatar: The Last Airbender, created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. While this ship is not absolute, there have been hints given in the show. For example, the most recent is in the episode "The Invasion" (episode 11) when Katara and Haru are reunited after not seeing each other since episode 6 "Imprisoned", Katara and Haru give each other a big hug and as Aang (main character) introduces Haru to another character, Katara keeps her hand on Haru's shoulder and blushes as Tyro, Haru's father, explains to everyone how Katara helped them. It's these subtle hints that give supporters of Karu hope.
In the episode "Imprisoned" Katara and Haru seemingly bonded over the stories of each other's parents; this was the beginnings of Karu.

karu is someone who tries to overcome insurmountable limits. Unconsciously longs for a perfect world, despite consciously aware that it does not exist. If I had to name the person most determined to perfect this unfortunately unfair world I would name karu. They’re a very sensitive person but also very determined, and angry, so angry that I myself would not be able to give a logical explanation to what their anger is. Often they feel alone because they realize how much they are the only one to feel so much suffering and anger towards the world, when they try to speak up about it with loved ones they only end up understanding how misunderstood they are, and how they don’t even understand themselves. They beat themselves up when they are wrong towards others, and often they do not even realize that they are wrong towards themselves. They especially want the best from their loved ones and when it doesn't happen they feel bad and thinks about how to solve the situation, how to make them improve, or they will not feel peaceful with their life. They are the strangest person I've ever met, I don't understand them.
Karu: *exists*

karu’s mind: How am I living with this piece of shit every fucking second of my life? I’m exhausted you make everything feel bad.

Ek Japati Karu

Literal translation is 'I'll slap you one.'
A word used by Gujarati Indian women, to threaten their children when they're mis-behaving. It essentially means to hit the child, usually with a slipper, or just their hand. It isn't a form of violence, or child abuse, just a phrase used to scare a child, similar to telling a child off for being naughty.
*Family go out shopping and the son keeps pestering his mum for a toy*
Mum: 'STOP IT! You're not getting a toy today!'
Son: 'Please mum, pleeeeeeeease'
Mum: 'If you don't be quiet, Ek Japati Karu'
*Child stops moaning and behaves accordingly*

Son: 'Mum, mum, mum, ma, ma, ma, mummy, mummy, mummy, maam, maam, maam, mom, mom, mom...'
Mum: 'WHAT!'
Son: 'Nothing (sniggers)'
Mum: 'Ek Japati Karu'
(Son shuts up and minds his own business)

Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texas will vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.

Blexas has been cited as possible in the upcoming decades, but only if Democrats continue to win the Hispanic vote in bigger margins.
Democrat 1: What is your prediction for the 2024 presidential election?
Democrat 2: Well uh, Blexas!
Democrat 1: You've been saying that since 2008 though.
