Behavior that fits the criteria for "badass" (so brave stuff, basically) but is motivated by virtuous intentions. It's not just "Look how badass I am", but "This is just the practical means to an end."
Person 1 and 2 are watching underground street fights with cash prizes.
Person 1: "Wow. That person's a badass. They're beating everyone."
Person 2: "I heard they have a loved one with a chronic health condition and the prize money goes toward medical bills. That's why nobody can just goad them into a fight by using a callout.
