When two men, having a mutual respect for each other, give one another a hug and pat on the back, usually, three times in rapid succession. "pat... pat... pat" which translates to "im... not... gay"

I hadn't seen my friend in so long i hugged him, but i didn't want to seem gay so i have him the "Im not gay" hug.

It's when two gays see each other in a sea of straights and so one jumps like "save me!!" Or "oh thank god!!" to the other and the other lifts them into the air. May also be referred to as a big gay hug.

Yeah, I saw her all alone so I ran over and gave her a good gay hug.
