Flirtfriend 

A flirtfriend is someone you have a flirty relationship with without being romantically or sexually involved.

You know they like you, they know you like them, you flirt a lot, hug, arouse each other and occasionnally make out.

But one or both of the persons are either on the ace spectrum, shy or like to take it slow and playful so it doesn't escalate in a sexual relationship (sexfriends or lover) and you're not looking for romantic connexion.

It's a really sweet and playful kind of relationship that can go on for years while escalating and deescalating from cuddle, to kisses, back to flirt without touching, then making out, etc

- Bye ! I'm off to the cinema with Sofia
- Oh ! Aren't they your flirtfriend ?
- Yes they are ! And maybe today we're gonna kiss ! It's been three month we haven't but yesterday she told me she wanted to kiss me last time but hesitated.

firlfriend 

1) A girl you're dating, but haven't made it "official" yet. Usually less than 5 dates or 2 months, whichever comes first.

2) A default girl that you hang out with all the time, but aren't dating nor plan on dating.

Yea, my parents are visiting me, but I don't think I'm ready to introduce them to the firlfriend yet.

Nah man, we're not dating, she's just a firlfriend.

Noun: A friend that you flirt with, even though you would never date him/her, a practice crush so you're prepared when you actually have one.

When Simon was my flirt friend and I practiced on him so much that some of my friends thought we were actually dating.
