The heavy DIY modification of an item, particularly an electronic device, to the point that one may confuse it for a pipe bomb. Particularly prevalent in hobbyist communities, such as the VR/AR community.

The empipebombification of my personal headset continues, as I have attached a full DAC to my headset to use with off ear headphones I have disassembled and affixed to the side of the headstrap.
