Emotions like happy, sad, excited, mad, coy, etc. are done through real photos of yourself rather than colons and parentheses, (ie. :-) :-( ;-) >:( This is usually done through text messages on a phone that can Multimedia Message and more than likely a phone with a front facing camera, like the iPhone 4.
