The club was eventually shut down amid drug-dealing scandal involving "house dealers" who sold and worked for the club. The individual who started the party, michael alig is currently in jail for murder of another Disco 2000 regular. This party has inspired several books and movies.

Nothing compares to Disco 2000, but those days are gone.

Back in the "Club Kid" era Disco 2000 a nightclub held at Limelight in NYC held a big wednsday night party, started by Michael Alig, a now convicted murderer of Angel Melendez. Michael owed Angel a great deal of money for drugs he had gotten for free and stolen from him. So "Disco 2000" was no more after Peter Gaition, owner of Limelite was shut down due to drugs.

Michael Alig is now serving in jail and will be up for parole in 2006

Blexas

Texas is categorized as a swing state in presidential elections, but has voted for Republicans more times than for Democrats in recent history. As such, as demographics change political alignments, some Democrats believe that Texas will vote blue, or Democratic, due to their Hispanic and African American voters, who often align themselves with the Democratic Party's liberal wing.

Blexas has been cited as possible in the upcoming decades, but only if Democrats continue to win the Hispanic vote in bigger margins.
