after not seeing a friend for a long time, you sustain the friendship through aim or ichat, and when you finally see each other things aren't awkward and you are great friends.

we may not be able to see each other until Christmas break but we can be cyber friends in the mean time.

Somebody who is up to no good on the internet, cyberfiends include fraudsters, scammers, black hat hackers and even regular members of the infosec community who shitpost on social media too much.

Younger cyberfiends can be hard to classify, they inhabit the grey zone and have not yet chosen a path.
