To proudly proclaim a trait upon yourself in order to mask the fact that in reality, you are deficient in that area.

Me: "@vleshwater on Instagram was Counter-signaling when they put "NON-PERFORMATIVE FEMINIST" in their bio."

You: "You're right! They wouldn't feel the need to put that in their bio if it was the genuine truth of the matter.
