The act of portraying People with Autism in media with highly exaggerated versions of autism stereotypes, often played for comic relief or in a discriminatory fashion.

The use of a tasteless caricature of a group of people that isn't quite as racist as blackface, but is still pretty racist, classist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, etc.
To help raise money for the homeless Melinda and Bill Gates spent the night sleeping in a cardboard box on the streets of downtown Seattle. Some passersby viewed this as an exercise in empathy, while others condemned it as a blackface adjacent publicity stunt.
