benchracer

Bench racer is a person that talks about cars and racing but does not actually attend track/race events. He may have a car to race but chooses not to or is always in the garage tweaking a car and never takes it out.

Those that like to discuss racing but don't actually go are known as benchracer

One who talks about how fast a vehicle is, yet does not have one of their own.

Dude!, i have a friend who's Neon is faster than yours!

I know a car that is faster than yours.
