apologistics

A portmanteau of 'apology' and 'logistics'. In essence, apologistics occurs when operations (esp. military operations) are so badly run that they require a senior official to say 'sorry'.
'Do you think anyone will say sorry for phony wars?'
'You mean say sorry for their refusal to work out an exit strategy prior to bumbling in like the Three Stooges?'
'Yes.'
'Not bloody likely, guvnah. Those guys aren't into apologistics.'

yellow brick road apologetics

Coined by Robert M. Price in "The Case Against The Case For Christ", derived from The Wizard of Oz.

Arguing for the truth of a controversial, often religiously significant claim by presupposing the truth of some other equally controversial claim.
"This is why, if apologists like William Lane Craig can get an opponent as far as admitting that Joseph of Arimathea probably did have Jesus interred in his own tomb, and if the women did probably visit the tomb, and that the tomb was probably found to be empty, he can press on to the conclusion that Bingo! Jesus must have risen from the dead! What they somehow do not see is that to argue thus is like arguing that the Emerald City of Oz must actually exist since, otherwise, where would the Yellow Brick Road lead?" -The Case Against The Case For Christ (p.209)

"The disciples clearly didn't hallucinate Jesus after the crucifixion since he allowed Thomas to poke his wounds and he shared bread with them. Simultaneous hallucinations involving multiple sensory modalities just don't happen."
"Yeah, that's just yellow brick road apologetics."

BBM Apologists Syndrome

BBM Apologists Syndrome is a psychological disorder that is being experienced by diehard Marcos fans. Its symptoms are factophobia or being reluctant when it comes to accepting the truth, irritated when in arguments, and saying only ad hominem statements when in time of losing up.
Factors causing BBM Apologists Syndrome are:
• disinformation such as relying on Tiktok, YouTube, Facebook, and some news services claiming as "news authority" as news sources
• influence from friends and family
• listening and reading of second-hand sources such as Mariteses instead of firsthand information sources, e.g. books, court cases, etc.
There is no medicine for being an apologist. Only truth and acceptance can heal them.
“My aunt has BBM Apologists Syndrome, she relied on tiktok for news about bbm.”

Apologetics

The attempt to rationalize every single thing the Bible says, no matter how genocidal, homicidal, sexist, racist, or totally fucking ridiculous those things might be.
My apologetics class taught me all about how Moses's slaughter of the Amalekites was justified. I'm ready to teach Sunday School classes now.

Apologetics

A branch of Christian theology devoted to the study and defense of the holy origins of scripture, as well as the divinely ordained authority of the Church alone to interpret it. To fail apologetics is a sign of intelligence.
My "F" in freshman Apologetics eventually led me to drop out of semenary and enroll in an Ivy league University.

Apologetics

Groups of bigoted religious zealots whose primary goal is to label the religions of others as, cults.
I looked at some Apologetics' web sites and every one of them was calling some other religion, if not several religions, a cult. If they really were cults, the Apologetics wouldn't have had to make such crap about them.

Apologitis

A person who is always apologising.

Side effects: Everyone else will tell you to stop apologising
