1. Adjective: used to describe an overly edematous child.
2. Adjective: being insincerely optimistic about an overly edematous child's prognosis.

1. "This patient is retaining fluid. He is more anasarcastic this morning."

2. Dr. A: "This patient is so edematous, his ears look like cauliflower! I'm sure he'd benefit from ECMO!"
Dr. X: "Oh stop being so anasarcastic!"
