Often disguised as a selfless act for the "greater good," Allgemeinhart describes a situation where someone performs a task or makes a decision under the pretense of benefiting the community, when in reality, it is purely motivated by their own personal convenience, ego, or comfort.

It is the art of rebranding selfishness as public service.
