73rd Gangsters crips or better known as The 73 Gangster Crips are a Los Angeles-based African-American street gang that originated in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of West South Central Los Angeles, primarily around 73rd Street between Van Ness Avenue and Vermont Avenue. They are part of the larger Gangster Crip (3x) alliance and operate within the jurisdiction of the LAPD 77th Street Division. The 73 Gangster Crips are known to be active in narcotics distribution, firearms possession, robberies, assaults, and gang-related homicides. They maintain a close alliance with the 73 Hustler Crips, with whom they often collaborate with, leading law enforcement to group them together in criminal investigations and indictments such as Their activities documented in the 2009 Fremont Passive Surveillance case, and their presence is officially recognized in the 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment issued by the National Gang Intelligence Center. Additionally, the 2012 San Bernardino County gang report noted the gang’s influence beyond Los Angeles, showing the extent of their reach. Their primary rivals include other Crip factions like the Rollin Neighborhood Crips, and multiple Blood gangs such as the Mad Swan Bloods and Denver Lane Bloods.
