Wedemeyer

1. The act of dramatically exaggerating the symptoms of a mild medical condition for the purposes of gaining special treatment or an "easy way out." Typically characterized by elaborate histrionics bordering on complete absurdity. An individual who has a noted tendency to perform a wedemeyer on a regular basis is often referred to as an ass clown.

2. Can also be used to describe the act of fabricating the symptoms of a completely nonexistent medical condition for the same purposes.

Jim didn't feel like taking his midterm, so he pulled a wedemeyer and pretended he was having an anxiety attack the night before.
