Portmanteau of "wannabe anime" or "western anime", animation or art produced with an anime or manga style in the Western world. Typically makes for a rounded, cosmopolitan artsyle, with a Japanese-style focus on character design and expression but a Western-style focus on anatomy and visual storytelling.

A general term for any anime-influenced cartoon outside of Japan. They are generally created by white people; hence the name whanime (a portmanteau of white, and anime). Any attempt at copying the same style as anime. Sometimes referenced as fanime, amerime, or kanadime. Most are fascinated and try to use the same style as anime. Examples include Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teen Titans, Code Lyoko, but are not limited to arguably Transformers, and other Caucasian made cartoon.

Person 2: That's not anime, that's a whanime!
