As noted in Fran Smith's 2007 profile of data visualization guru Edward Tufte, “devotees use his name ... as a verb; to 'Tufteize' your presentations is to scrap content-lite graphics, such as pie charts and decorative dingbats, and to create visuals that brim with data and state precisely what you know—nothing more and nothing less.”
