The irrational fear, disgust, and/or hatred of trans men and transmasculine people. This form of bigotry occurs at the intersection of maleness/masculinity and transness and is specific to the experiences of trans men and transmasculine people.

The term is thought to be controversial as there are those who believe it is not a real form of discrimination and that it undermines trans women and transfeminine people and their fight against transmisogyny. It is also called transmisandry, though this term is considered outdated.
Person 1: Transandrophobia is not real! Trans men are men, therefore they are not oppressed!
Person 2: I understand your feelings, but the topic is a lot more complicated than that!

An individual who believes transandrophobia is a real form of discrimination and oppression faced by trans men and transmasculine people. The term is used derogatorily by those who claim transandrophobia does not exist, and that it undermines the fight against transmisogyny.
Person 1: Trans men do face discrimination specifically for being trans men.
Person 2: Oh, so you're a transandrophobia truther?

Now what is it; where is it from? The people who self-identify with this word say that it is from the Old English and it has come to today meaning “bad”. That it’s the etymology of bad. And back in the day, back in the Old English Times, it used to be used as a slur against effeminate men as well as intersex people. Now, with the effeminate men, that means both gender nonconforming men as well as trans women. So, who are the people that saw this slur and decided they wanted to call themselves that?

Well, back in the early 2010’s, it was a group of trans women who were more on the radfem/lesbian separatist movement, meaning they were wlw and they did not want anything to do with men. In many cases, they didn’t want to do anything with people who did have anything to do with men. So, that sort of people. They created a sort of, typical inner clique that you would find on tumblr with a larger spectrum around them, and this inner clique eventually dissolved after some intra-community drama where essentially one of the head honchos apparently sexually assaulted another high-ranking member, and everyone defended the assaulter, and they sorta dissolved. There’s been a couple of attempts for them to come back, with the latest one being I noticed in late November of this year, 2021, and it’s mostly on twitter so.
