To buy my mom a minivan

A phrase used to get out of an obligation. Whether it be money, for trade, or just a lame excuse not to follow thru with prior agreement.
Mike: "Hey doesn't Bob owe you money?"

Me: "yes he does!"
Me: "Hey Bob! How about paying me back and making it right? Huh?
Bob: " I can't be bothered with that right now man, Im off to buy my mom a minivan! *Scurries off shamefully*
