Thrust the Monty
The ancient and highly questionable disc golf technique of adding distance to a shot by violently thrusting one's pelvis at the precise moment the disc is released.
The theory behind Thrust the Monty is simple: more thrust = more distance. While there is little scientific evidence to support this claim, thousands of disc golfers have bravely ignored science and attempted it anyway.
The technique is most effective when performed with excessive confidence, poor body mechanics, and absolutely no concern for what the people on the next tee box think you're doing.
History:
The term Thrust the Monty was coined in 2012 by DGPOPS, disc golfer and creator of the YouTube channel Disc Golf with Pops. What began as a ridiculous attempt to squeeze a few extra feet out of a drive eventually became a recognized term in the DGPOPS disc golf vocabulary.

"I was 30 feet short of the basket, so I hit it with a Thrust the Monty."
"How'd that work?"
"I gained three feet and threw my back out."
See also: Grip it. Rip it. Thrust it.
