It does not have a translation, but the closest thing to one is

“Life is meaningless and we’re all going to die”

Person A: Digga ich wurde grad vom Bus überfahren
(I just got run over by a bus)
Person B: Tja

Person A: Ich hab vergessen Eier zu kaufen

(I forgot to buy some eggs)
Person B: Tja

Person A: Es ist gerade ein Nuklearkrieg ausgebrochen!!!
(Nuclear war just started!!!)

Ex 1: I'm gonna make a sandwich - ok - wait, there's no bread! - tja

I don't know about the German, but in the Swedish language it is another way to say hi, used by people that know eachother, and mostly used in the teens
