surdocide

Deliberate wiping out Deaf peoples and Deaf cultures but not initially* including signed languages from the face of Earth.

How? Benevolent additive means via genetic engineering in order to add hearing to Deaf peoples which transforms them and inflicts emotional, spiritual, psychic, and mental violence on our communities.
Rather than subtractive means of mass violence and killings.
Bloodless, invisible, and “painless”

*It may be possible to maintain the existence of sign languages without Deaf people, but its prolonged existence would be in serious doubt.
Oralism ideology which banned the use of sign languages also included efforts by Alexander Graham Bell to prevent Deaf to Deaf marriages which could be seen as an attempted surdocide of the Deaf people.
