Saraz stands for Sarazin, a people often derided during the Middle Ages because of their differences: many of them were red and their sexual inclination
led them frequently in
prison. To escape social pressure, they went to
Sweden and devoted themselves to acts of debauchery, including theft of wheelbarrow. Despite the protection some cottages offered them , they continued to promote immorality, gambling and addressing public goods. Their moral defects found an
echo in their physical constitution: they often fell sick, fell victim to numerous injuries and became hyponchondriac. The nicknames given to them
today often refer to the phallic object in its rare and curious forms.
