San Gabriel

A city located in Los Angeles County. The whole thing is based on a failure of a mission that was built in the 1700s. Plans to turn the mission into a tourist attraction failed, and now it just rots there. 49% of the population is Asian, 31% is Hispanic, and the rest are all White. Everyone hangs out at the Santa Anita Mall on weekends. There are several elementary schools and high schools, but only one middle school: Jefferson Middle School. Most kids go to Jefferson Middle School and then Gabrielino High School. In Jefferson, the kids hang out at the ARCO gas station, which serves more junk food than gas after school. Once you've advanced to Gabrielino, you get to hang out at a little strip full of Asian shops. There are plenty of ricers, tabs, tmbs (Hispanic version of Tabs, completely with babydoll clothes and hoodies and Jansport backpacks), gangstas, yaps, and even a few scene kids (oddly, Albino or Asian mostly) lurking around this city.
As of the census of 2000, there were 39,804 people, 12,587 households, and 9,566 families residing in San Gabriel. The population density was 3,721.2/km² (9,639.3/mi²). There were 12,909 housing units at an average density of 1,206.8/km² (3,126.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 33.40% White, 1.06% African American, 0.83% Native American, 48.91% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 12.36% from other races, and 3.34% from two or more races. 30.71% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 12,587 households out of which 35.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.1% were married couples living together, 15.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.0% were non-families. 18.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.10 and the average family size was 3.52.

In the city the population was spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 33.3% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $41,791, and the median income for a family was $45,287. Males had a median income of $31,642 versus $29,302 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,807. 15.9% of the population and 12.5% of families were below the poverty line. 21.4% of those under the age of 18 and 11.5% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.

Words you can keep

San Gabriel

Also known as SG for short. Not to be confused with San Gabriel Valley, this definition refers to simply San Gabriel the city. Not Alhambra, not Rosemead, nor any other city in the Valley.

San Gabriel is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States.

It was originally a sleepy church town, built in 1771.

In 1852, San Gabriel became a township of Los Angeles.

It was a small town filled with Whites and Hispanics.

But in the 1980s, Asians flooded in and built all these Asian businesses. When we say 'Asians', we really mean Vietnamese and Chinese, because that's all SG has, though there are also a few Filipinos.

Everyone goes to malls on weekends, wears Hollister, and dresses up trying to be cool. There are plenty of ricers, tabs, gangstas, TMBs (like the other definition says), and a few scene kids.

There is nothing to do in this city except drink boba (supposedly boba originated in San Gabriel, but there is no evidence to back this up) and shop. Even that gets boring after awhile.
San Gabriel is the new Chinatown.
San Gabriel is filled with Hispanics and Asians.

San Gabriel High School

A high school located in San Gabriel. Consists of Asians and Hispanics with the occasional lost Caucasian thrown into the mix. The feeder schools are mainly Garvey Intermediate, Temple, or Baldwin.

Rivalry schools change often.

There are way too many freshmen PDA'ing everywhere. They need to get their shit together.

Scratch that. There is way too much PDA in general. Go get a room, you horndogs.

There are cool teachers there.

The food is pretty bad like every other school cafeteria in the world.

The girls' volleyball team has won league too many times to count.

The football team is not too shabby.

The girls' basketball program is slowly rising from the gutter.

There is a nice football field.

Most girls dress like corner hoes and hit on everything with a dick.

The football players think they're pimps and try to get into every girls' pants.

The school colors are Red and Blue.

The mascot is the SGHS Matadors.

Oh, and they're cooler than Mark Keppel.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
Some grebo passed with Sabbath playing on his stereo.
The Poppies are at no. 17? God, a grebo band in the charts!
They're playing nu-metal now, bloody grebos!
