Phaethonmaxxing

The act of driving with reckless overconfidence, poor judgment, or chaotic incompetence—often while believing you’re far more skilled than you actually are. Inspired by Phaethon from Greek mythology, who disastrously tried to drive the sun chariot and nearly burned the world, phaethonmaxxing describes someone whose driving is so erratic, oblivious, or catastrophically bad that it becomes its own exaggerated persona.

Used similarly to jestermaxxing, but instead of clowning socially, the person is unintentionally performing a “cosmic disaster” routine behind the wheel.

Bro cut across three lanes with no signal and almost hit a cop car. He’s full-on phaethonmaxxing today.

These Tesla drivers going 68 in the left lane are all phaethonmaxxers.
