Pete Best

The drummer of the Beatles before he was replaced by Ringo Starr in 1962. There are a few debatable reasons as to why he was fired

1) Brian Epstein (the Beatles second manager) didn't like his drumming and asked the rest of the group to let him go

2) Pete wasn't that close to the rest of the group and thus made John, Paul and George feel uncomfortable around him.

and perhaps the most debatable reason of all...

3) John, Paul and George were jealous of Pete's good looks and were upset that he received more attention and praise from girls than the rest of the group.

Whatever the reason was, Pete Best was replaced by Ringo just as Brian Epstein began to transform the band into a sensation. It was reported that Pete tried to commit suicide years after he was fired, but a close relative managed to stop him. I do sympathize with him though because after all, how would you feel if you almost became one of the most famous musicians in the world?

pulling a Pete Best

to leave or step down from something that doesn't look like it will go anywhere, only to discover almost immediately upon departure that it would have made one extremely rich, famous, or successful.

Mockery of Pete Best, the original Beatles drummer, who quit the band before they hit it big.
Wow, Julia Roberts is totally pulling a Pete Best to back out of that role in The Blind Side. Its a best actress Oscar shoe-in!

OMG, you totally pulled a Pete Best by quitting show choir. Next week, Idina Menzel is coming to talk to us!

Wow, all those publishers who turned down JK Rowling pulled a Pete Best, didn't they? Bet they wish they had said yes now.

Pete Bested

When you are forced to leave a group against your own wishes and the group achieves success or happiness without you.
Pete best was fired form The Beatles, and replaced by Ringo Star; before the Beatles reached commercial success.
I got Pete Bested when I was cut from the team and they went on to win the championship.

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.

Stealthie

when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.

This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
FRIEND A: "Did you just take a stealthie of me?"

FRIEND B (turning phone around): "no I was just using snapchat's new filter, see?"
