The city was named for New Berlin, New York. New Berlin NY is a small town that happens to be very over taxed and regulated in the middle of the hell that is Upstate NY which also happens to be very over taxed and regulated/ruled. It's where fun dies and in its place is taxes laws and a sizeable amount of dink wads (the ones who are not dinks are nice people). New Berlin and Upstate for that matter is not worth the time of day to go visit. On the upside the hunting and fishing is good if you like that type of thing if not well their is no point for you to go there.
