The process by which avarice, idiocy, and provincial cravenness in municipal politics tends to make manifest the worst possible result for any given situation.

"Everyone agreed that saving the historic clock tower was the only reasonable thing for the city of Glen Ellen to do, but instead municipidity dictated that it was torn down to make room for a mortgage broker's new headquarters that closed a few months later. Now the property is a boarded-up storefront."
