Monacoleptic

A condition in which viewers of the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix experience an increasing inability to remain awake or attentive as the race progresses, particularly due to the circuit’s lack of overtaking opportunities and repetitive procession-like laps. The condition intensifies with each lap, rendering even the most thrilling moments ineffective at re-engaging the viewer’s interest if they occur too late in the race.
Usage as adjective:
"By lap 40, I was completely Monacoleptic—did Verstappen pit? I wouldn’t know."

Usage as noun:
"He’s a classic Monacoleptic—only makes it through the opening laps before dozing off with the engine noise as white noise."
