MatPat Effect

I sense of uncanniness upon seeing the original version of an image that has been more commonly edited or modified for visual presentation.
Guy 1:Woah, this original image of MatPat is rather uncanny, bro.
Guy B: That's the um, the uuuuuuh, hold on...
Guy 2: *Googles it on UrbanDictionary.com*
Guy II: That's the MatPat Effect
Guy A: Ok

Matpat Effect

When a person reads a YouTube video title and gets convinced at first that it’s about the channel poster’s departure, only to watch the video and it’s about something else.
This was coined after Matpat leaving Game Theory, and causing some other YouTubers to leave too.
YouTube Title: The Future of the Channel…
Comment below video: Holy shit, I thought you were leaving for a second.
Reply: No, that’s just the Matpat effect calling to you.

MatPat effect

The phenomenon in which a piece of media, most commonly an image/a particular part of an image, is altered or otherwise removed from it's original context to an extend where seeing it in said original context feels unnatural.
"Seeing MatPat's avatar in the source feels weird because of the MatPat effect."

The MatPat Effect

When you’ve seen the edited version of an image so many times that the unedited version starts to look unnatural
Term originated from when people found the unedited image of the sprite that matpat uses in his videos and it looked uncanny, hence why it’s called The MatPat Effect
A small piece of information. Derived from the word ken, used often in the scottish language and is synonymous with knowledge.
Person 1: "Hey I don't get this shit. How do you solve this problem?"
Person 2: "I got that one. Give me some kenlets on this assignment and I'll help you w/ that one."

I mean I guess bro

a word of expression to when you give up on comprehending someone's words of ignorance, stupidity, absurdity or are too exhausted to formulate a proper response.

Commonly seen in TikTok comment sections in replies to lazy attempts at humor, overconfidentally incorrect statement, or an over-the-top comment or when someone completely misses the mark on something.
"actually... incorrect statement, hope this helps!"

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.
Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.
