Maroon Democrats (noun, plural) — Democrats who band together to fight democratic socialism so fiercely that they risk allowing authoritarianism to supersede democracy itself.
“Maroon” refers both to the dark-red color between traditional Democratic blue and Republican red, and to the act of abandoning or leaving someone stranded—because they maroon their own coalition and democracy along with it. Also, they're morons.
