Maladaptive hallucinating (MH)

When you often vividly and effortlessly hallucinate on purpose, without drugs to brainstorm, stimulate yourself or dissosiate from painful reality, while knowing that the delusions aren't necessarily real. The hallucinations can last hours, days, weeks or even a lifetime if it becomes a lifelong condition.

It can also lead to fatigue, poor focus, migranes and possibly even skipping work just to hallucinate.

Although it has negative side-effects, maladaptive hallucinating can become addictive from the adrenalin rush of escaping harsh reality.

Unlike phantasia, maladaptive hallucinating can have chronic side-effects and impacts on daily life.
