To smile and wave, in order to avoid confrontation. Just like the penguins from the movie Madagascar.

The big African Island, as large as Texas, populated by Malagasy people and many unique species, among them the lemurs.

A fad created in GameFAQs, from the game Pandemic 2, where the country of Madagascar is the main reason why players lose the game. In Pandemic 2, the player tries to infect the world with a disease and attempt to wipe out humanity. Madagascar is a country hard to infect because it only has one port to infect it from, and it tends to close the port down even when the infection is not "big." Thus, people lose the game, and people complain. A few comics have also been made.

Transition example
Topic Creator: Wow, they put tomatoes in my burger when I told the, not to. I'm mad.
Poster: President Madagascar!
What?
They put tomatoes in our burgers!
...
SHUT
DOWN
EVERYTHING!!!

A wonderful country also known under the name of the Great Red Island because of its red soil. It's located in east Africa & is easily recognizable because of its rather interesting shape and size.
Madagascar's residents are called Malagasy people. Not only they're great, but they speak a very beautiful & melodic language also named Malagasy! Some French is also spoken there.
It's time for language teaching: 'Salama/manahoana' = 'Hello'
The island contains the famous black and white striped lemur, the Maki Catta (king Julian), along with many other known species of wildlife. But there aren't any lions, zebras nor elephants on the island, unlike what is shown in the famous movie... Also, fun fact: the Maki Catta is the country's official emblem !
And though the media portrays the country as poor, out of reach and devoid of any modern life, there's more than that. Trust me, you have to discover how mesmerizing this gem is by checking out a National geographic documentary if you haven't yet !
*side note: I have some roots from there ;-)
