KompAfroBeat

KompAfroBeat is a fusion of Haitian Kompa and Beat music and Afrobeat which involves the combination of elements of West African and Haitian lyrics.

It's played in nightclubs from mainly the French-Creole speaking countries of the Caribbean, such as Haiti, Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe as well as Canada, France and Western Africa and Haitian communities in the Untited States.

Typical instruments are:
Bass guitar, Drum set, Saxophone(s, vocals, Chorus vocals, Rhythm guitar(s), Tenor guitar, Trumpet(s), Trombone(s), Organ/keyboards, Rhythm conga #1, Rhythm conga #2, Solo (lead) Conga Akuba, Yoruba congas, Ostinatos. Gbedu, Sticks/claves, Shekere and backing tracks with chanted vocals, complex intersecting rhythms, and percussions.
Yo Bro! This KompAfroBeat song reminded me of a West African concert I've attended at the SOB's last time I visited NYC in 2001.
