Kindness panic

The awkward interaction between two excessively polite people faced with a choice. Regularly occurring in doorways, hallways, at dinner parties and occasionally on the road; it may appear as temporary paralysis, poor decision making and jerky dancing.
She held the door for him as he, in a classic case of kindness panic, held out his hand and said "After you."

On being offered the last canapé, two women overcome with kindness panic, created a terrible mess by splitting the morsel in half saying, "Let's share!"
