Jiang Hsiao

A 15th century Chinese woodworker known for his exquisite carvings of waterfowl, especially those of the Anatidae family (ducks). Such was his affinity for the bird that he was said to have, in his later years, adopted its uneven gait. His name has been thus adopted as a colloquialism in northern parts of China such as Shandong to indicate one who possesses an ungainly walk.
