What occurs when someone is telling an anecdote and you expect the outcome to be the complete opposite of what it actually is. Named after a date set-up gone bad.
(On the phone)
A: I hear you and Jake hit it off! He's standing right here...I just invited him to go dancing with us tonight.
B: I never want to see him again.
A: Well this is awkward.

C: So I told my boss to f-off before going streaking through the office.
D: So you're fired?
C: No. She gave me extra vacation time to deal with the stress.
D: Wow, Jake moment...
