The act of getting with a girl that is "less than adequate" based upon the fact that the Hufflepuff house is the fat, ugly, should be wearing a helmet house......

In Harry Potter, the Hufflepuff house is commonly seen as being the "worst" of the four houses, and therefore (generally) the most cowardly and unintelligent.

In the case of "hufflepuffing it", it would mean that one is being rather cowardly or incredibly stupid.

Emily, quit hufflepuffing it and just watch the zombie movie!

John was totally hufflepuffing it so he lost that match of laser tag!
