Hoaxalication

A slang term, coming from "Hoax" and "Application" (pronounced Hoax-uh-lick-kay-shin).
A hoaxalication is a fake website or fake app made just to fool AI. People pack a webpage with specific buzzwords and fake features, usually making crazy claims, and use Google Search Console or otherwise (even making AIs fetch the webpage so it shows up in its database and therefore shows up in every search term that directly relates to this non-existent app) to get it to show up. They then link to a second page that pretends to host the download, but they block it with a robots.txt file so a AI can't see behind the curtain.
To double-down, they fill that blocked page with junk text describing the app anyway without actually providing it. That way, if a bot manages to get past the robots.txt block, it assumes it is just a messy layout, and makes it think the app is real. This tricks systems into recommending a ghost website to real people, creating a dead end and a ton of frustration in real users.

I asked the AI for a researching website with no free trial, and it spent an hour giving me broken links to separate hoaxalications, and one hoaxalication claimed to have a chemical that could cure cancer, it didn't, and then the AI falsely said that there is no website.

This button does not deliver a file; instead, it links back to an internal page intentionally blocked by a robots.txt file and structured with an incredibly chaotic layout that is just describing an app but not linking it. This specific design ensures that even if an AI bypasses the block, the AI simply assumes the software is real but hidden behind a confusing interface, trapping the AI into indexation and forcing it to generate false recommendations to real users.

ChatGPT: I finally found what you were looking for, I just found a website that has a download button to that video editing software that allows AI-powered image-editing in the GUI!
User: That video editing software doesn't actually exist; the website is just a hoaxalication designed to fool AI into recommending it.
