Herescience
A critical term for the counterpart to orthodoscience: scientific ideas, theories, methods, or fields that challenge the dominant paradigm and are therefore marginalized, pathologized, or excluded. Herescience is the science of the dissident, the outsider, the heretic. It is often dismissed as "pseudoscience," "speculation," or "fraud"—not because it lacks evidence, but because it threatens the power of orthodoxy. Herescience is the source of innovation, critique, and transformation. It is the science that asks the questions orthodoxy forbids and explores the possibilities orthodoxy denies. Herescience is the science of the future, waiting to be recognized.
Example: "When a researcher proposes a theory that challenges the dominant paradigm, and is ridiculed and excluded, that researcher is practicing herescience: science that is marginalized not because it is wrong, but because it is threatening."
