Gaskidding (verb) – A playful or less malicious form of gaslighting, where someone jokingly or subtly tries to make another person question their perception, memory, or reality, but without the manipulative intent of full-on gaslighting. Often used in lighthearted teasing, sarcasm, or minor exaggerations that blur the line between truth and a joke.
Example 1:
Alex: "You said you'd buy me coffee!"
Jordan: "No, I didn’t… or did I? Maybe you just dreamed that."
Alex: "Stop gaskidding me!"
Example 2:
"My friend told me our favorite restaurant burned down, and I totally believed them. Turns out, they were just gaskidding me."
