Friend or Foe

What I think about you is almost entirely dependant on which one of these you are...
Iam "That's actually kind of scary of you think about the friend or foe problem..."

Hym "Hmmm... Good point. It's not always self-evident as to what people are trying to accomplish when they interact with you..."

Iam "Yeah, right? Like... If they're a foe I know you're just going to reem the shit out of them."

Hym "Exactly and if they're a friend you're undoubtedly going to kiss their asses until your lips get chapped.."

Iam "Wha...!? I will not! What's wrong with being nice to people?"

Hym "It makes you look weak, they might hate your guts and get some kind of sick pleasure out of making you kiss up to them and that will make you look stupid and pathetic, and I don't like it."

Iam "Well.... I don't know it's just kind of sad, you know? Like, how do we know we don't like the 'wrong' people?"

Hym "Not so easy to tell... Hmm... You should be more concerned about hating the 'wrong' people..."

Iam "Oh shit! Oops. We forgot to eat today!"

Hym "Yeah, I'm starting to get hungry too.... Make me something to eat."

Iam "Alright. Give me a minute."

trucker's tan

A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
I had a trucker's tan after driving for 10 straight hours on a sunny day.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
